Update E-News Jan 2007

Hi all, we have entered the new year 2007 with even more events for WWS in addition to our normal Weekend Duties. Youth Bicycle Patrol continues for saturday morning and we may be planning for an afternoon shift if there is demand and available WWS Volunteers. Today this youth partnership come mainly with Singapore Poly and NTUC.

The weekend just gone by had WWS doing Safety Boat Duty on saturday and sunday for the NUS Canoeing Club. Tomorrow on 29th. Jan. we will be

having our first of many many School Education Programs at WWS Premises. Thanks to Annie, our school educational program is filling-up fast for the weekdays and saturdays. Please check “Events and News” in our Web-site. Volunteers are always needed for such events with the schools. Contact Annie if you can assist.

This morning, 28th. Jan., we also had our very first meeting with PUB, NEA and NPARKS. We hope to make this a regular meeting so as to exchange observations and suggestions with each other.

For those of you who have not submitted you Duty Dates, please do so that we can plan more effectively our roster for Jan.- Apr. 07.

A reminder at this point- volunteer duty for the exhibition at UnderWater World! Those who can help and not replied to Annie’s email, please do.

We need to arrange with UnderWater World for necessary entry passes.

For general information,we have built a second room for Members Use. It is concrete hence, no need to take off your footwear however, make sure it is clean and dry. With more activities planned from 2007 and our Five Year Plan accepted by PUB, we have converted our “old office” into a more formal “OFFICE” for our Admin work.

We like to remind all members to ensure that booties worn should be washed and put back after each patrol. Recently our stock count found a few WWS Booties unaccounted for.

Thank you all and see you at WWS soon!

Eugene Heng
