The week just gone by was quite active for WWS. In total, we managed 5 WWE programs – 3 PLAY sponsored by PowerSeraya for CHIJ (Katong) Primary School, Greendale Secondary School and Bedok Green Secondary School (90 pax total), 1 MAD@Mac sponsored by Ascendas for Greenridge Secondary School (40 pax), 2 LAH LAH sponsored by Pratt & Whitney for St. Hilda’s Primary School (61 pax total), 3 Corporate Programs (TFS Asia/ Johnson Controls (25 pax), Infineon (19 pax) and Diageo (25 pax) and 1 school talk for ACS (J) for 200 students sponsored by Pratt and Whitney. There were three safety boat services this week (Dragon Boat and Glorious).
Two Corporate Programs with Nikko and Empact were cancelled at the last minute by the client. On Saturday 29th July 2017, 15 WWS Members received their LTA Public Path Warden Certificate at a Ceremony graced by Minister Khaw.
With National Day Celebrations going-on, we had to make some changes in our Bike Routes for our programs and by the Weekend Patrols. The full-dress rehearsal had 9 members on duty doing anti-littering rounds assisting PHC. Total members on duty over the weekend – 8 Punggol and 25 Marina. PMDs and PABs were sighted during the week and in fact during the full-dress rehearsal around Marina Bay. Illegal fishing continues to be challenging and on Sunday alone, 9 fishermen outside the Fishing Zone were engaged. All complied (see photos).
We are happy to announce that in the month of July 2017, we had 13 new member sign-ups!
