It was quite a fruitful week for WWS, with two WWE Learning Trails at Pang Sua Pond (NWCDC-sponsored) for Greenridge Primary School (29 pax) and Northland Primary School (36 pax), one Assembly Talk (Pratt & Whitney-sponsored) with Anchor Green Primary School, four CSR on Kayak and/or Pedal Boat with Infineon (26 pax), Empact (32 pax), Horizon Terminals (24 pax) and Edenred (35 pax), a few Safety Boat duties and Sunday Bike and Boat Patrols at Marina and Punggol. We had 12 members on patrol this week, plus 10 new members on orientation at Punggol. We also submitted our accounts to MCCY this week. Pending work to submit to ROS and IRAS. Our latest edition to admin was the joining of Gaston to WWS Admin. He will be doing most of our backroom office work supporting our front-line leaders and facilitators.
There were no engagements for Anti-Littering this week but we had at least 15 engaged for illegal fishing (some were even using nets). No fines were issued for Littering during the weekend.
We also had our annual International Coastal Clean-Up along a Beach near Marina East Drive whereby we collected a whopping 1015kg of litter in less than 2hrs! We could have cleared and collected more, if not for an incoming storm. Thank you to all our 80 participants, made up of volunteers (30) and corporate partners (US Navy, Pratt & Whitney, Amcor and Salesforce) for the hard work and making the event a success!
