We had an almost-full week at WWS, with programmes or patrols running daily. We had three Assembly Talks (Pratt & Whitney-sponsored) with East Coast Primary School, St. Andrew’s Secondary School and Anchor Green Primary School (total > 1500 students engaged), two River Monster Junior Sessions with SJI International Elementary School (90 pax total), CSR on Kayak and/or Pedal Boat with Infineon (19 pax), Empact – Mondelez (40 pax), and Pacific Radiance (9 pax), and the Sunday Bike Patrols at Marina at a Punggol Night Patrol in conjunction with Mid-Autumn Festival. Sunday afternoon patrol was cancelled due to Thundery Showers.
We had 23 members on patrol this week, plus 4 new members on orientation (3 signed up through Giving.SG!). There were no engagements for Anti-Littering this week but we had at least 15 engaged for illegal fishing. No fines were issued for Littering during the weekend. 6 groups were engaged when burning candles around or on benches during our Punggol Night Patrol. We provided them with cardboards to use instead. If Sunday patrol for Punggol not been cancelled, we would have had another 20 reporting for duty (boat and bike orientation and kayak patrols).
This week also saw us partnering with Better Trails to conduct a kayak-based ICCS for MPA (see photos). CEO Heng was one of their guests at the event at Sembawang.
