The Children’s Day week started relatively low-key for WWS, but we had two power-packed programmes and our usual patrols later in the week. We had a 3-hour educational booth at Nan Hua Primary School, spreading environmental awareness and education to throngs of energetic students (5 members involved), a CSR with sponsor Solvay Chemicals on Kayak, Bike and Foot (37 pax total). We also attended a BizAcademy event by Salesforce and an Interactive Workshop on Positive Leadership by Credit Suisse. We had our usual Weekend Patrols at Marina and Sunday evening Patrol at Punggol.
We had to cancel Punggol Kayak Patrol again this weekend due to rain. We are considering shifting the next Sunday Punggol Patrol to a morning slot as we anticipate another rainy afternoon.
We had 24 members on patrol this week, plus 2 new members on orientation. There were 25 persons engaged for Anti-Littering this week and we had at least 10 engaged for illegal fishing. No fines were issued for Littering during the weekend.
One of our admin staff (Gaston) resigned this week, as he will be focusing on care for his pregnant wife. We wish him and his family well for the days ahead.
We will also be sending our Annual Report to all partners shortly. Do look out for it.
