Weekly Report 05 December 2017

Dear Friends,

Happy Giving Week 2017! Thank you to NVPC for featuring WWS in an online article as part of Giving Week 2017 (article can be found here: https://goo.gl/f7RLMd). Although our Giving Week Marina Bike Clean-Up Patrol had to be cancelled due to low sign-ups (probably due to late publicity), we still managed two programs, with our usual patrols during the week.

We had two CSR programmes on kayak, one with 80 Student Leaders from Singapore and Brunei (MOE Adventure/ Leadership Camp), and another with 25 employees of Credit Suisse. We ended off the week with the usual Boat/Bike Patrols at Marina and Punggol. The Sunday group also helped to do some gardening and clearing of areas where Gardens by the Bay will be doing some cable/ wiring works.

We had 24 pax on patrol this week at Kallang and Punggol including 10 involved in Gardening on Sunday. There were no engagements for Anti-Littering this week, and we had at least than 10 engaged for illegal fishing this week. No fines were issued for Littering during the weekend. No Litter Hotspots were found, and the areas of Marina and Punggol seemed generally in order.

More than 80% of the litter picked up/ observed during our patrols/ programmes over the week continue to consist of plastic waste.
