Let’s care more for the Earth.

Dear Friends,

With World Water Month coming to an end, WWS hopes that we have spread awareness about our waters to the schools and corporations that we have been engaging with. While we noted a drop in engagement with schools this WWD period (a disturbing trend), we will plan to continue doing our best to educate and inspire many others to care for our environment and waterways in Singapore. While March was a month that aims to raise awareness on water sustainability, it does not mean that people should stop caring about our waters just because we are moving into April. Hopefully, that is something that the public will recognize.

Unfortunately, the amount of litter collected from both CSR programmes and member patrols totalled 370kg. Members also reported several areas inaccessible to them that were abundant with litter. We would appreciate it if the relevant authorities could assist to have the litter in these reported areas cleared.

One very bright spot we like to share is our experience when doing our assembly talk at Bendemeer Primary School. On that day, the whole school was doing a “Water Rationing” day! Yes, the whole school and with the support of the principal and teachers. Our compliments and congratulations to the whole school! We wish more schools would follow this action. Perhaps PUB and the MOE can seriously look into this and start having regular reminders of this sort with our young. Great initiative Bendemeer Primary. We are proud of your school!!
