Rain, the Reservoir’s Life Source

Dear Friends,

It seems the monsoon is starting to pick up starting this week. We had some bouts of rain and it affected our Jurong patrol and almost threatened our Vesak Day Coney Island Walk conducted by PresidentJoo Kek; but the rest of our activities carried on as usual safely. This week saw slightly less litter, which hopefully is a good sign for our Waterways.

This week was also dedicated to maintaining and refreshing some of our equipment. As sustainability champions, we try to ensure that our items last as long as possible without having to waste and change just because we can’t fix it. We are fortunate to have our members have different expertise from artistic talents to recolour our banners, to handymen able to paint up our boats, and even to media experts to update our media content.

As much as rain can be a dampener given our outdoor nature, we need to be thankful for our climate as the rain becomes our source of drinking water. Being stored in the reservoirs, all the more WWS takes it upon ourselves to steward our streams of life.
