It’s almost the June school holidays and…..
Dear Friends,
We are in the last week of the school term. How time flies and we are almost at the halfway point of 2025. During this week, as the students wind down from their exams, we appreciate the schools who made an effort to bring their students out to our reservoirs for an outdoor clean up! We had a whooping 8 VIA programmes, outreaching to a total of 486 students! Our members are also back in full force after the bout of sickness last week. Safety boat support service also saw an increase from our business partners doing Kayak and dragon boating. There was also 1 Assembly Talk (80 students) and 3 CSR this week.
However, we should not rest on our laurels. We are already starting to see fishing outside of the designated fishing zones and more fishing related rubbish. Despite countless signs and warnings, we still see people who are recalcitrant and continue to disregard the rules. This is not only the responsibility of the government or WWS, and we hope every member of the public can do their part to protect our waterways, whether to be a PUB volunteer or simply reporting such sightings to PUB.
