Volunteering at its best!
Dear Friends,
It’s another week here at Waterways Watch Society and it is heartening to see more and more people interested in participating in caring for the environment. We hold an orientation for interested volunteers every month and many of them have continued to join us for many years. Last month, a couple who met here six years got married. This week, we also had 4 total strangers bonding with our bicycle patrols and even spent time with us picking litter during their birthday weekend! Thank you very much for your commitment and support. Wish more Singaporeans will follow.
Our CSR companies this week are also no strangers to us, like OCBC, Maybank and Salesforce. They have supported our work for many years as well, many staff even volunteering to come back to contribute to our waterways when the opportunity arises from their company. We truly appreciate their support, just to even take a simple half a day to clean up our waterways.
This week, we are seeing the preparations ramp up for our National Day. As park goers and contractors start to fill the area, we encourage all community partners to clean up after ourselves. Our volunteers and contractor partners have spent time to ensure that we have a clean and safe water supply. Let’s aim to keep it that way as we celebrate our nation’s 60th birthday.
Our dollar-to-dollar “Celebrate SG60 with a ripple of change” campaign is still on-going at giving.sg and if you would still like to make a donation, please visit giving.sg website. To date, we have managed just above the $10k mark versus our goal of $100k.
