It’s our park, it’s our responsibility to sustain and preserve it.

Dear Friends,

We are delighted to have continual support from our corporate and schools in engaging meaningful efforts with our interactive programmes. This not only helps us to maintain strong networking with many volunteers alike and financially able to sustain the contributions in preserving our waterways and environment office.

Our volunteers are fundamental in a marathon journey to inspire and expand the co-ownership for an ABC (Active, Beautiful & Clean) park and reservoir. We successfully onboard 30 strong new members in this shared mission at this Sundays’ New Members Orientation. Our new volunteer members have gone through both the boat and bicycle patrol around the marina reservoir and Kallang Riverside park. We appreciate their enthusiasm and look forward to active while enjoyable activities with WWS. This month we had families, couples, students, local n foreign professionals sign-up.

We observed a steady increase of illegal fishing in Marina reservoir and Jurong Lake Garden. Aside from the illegal fishing, the littering situation persists at and near the Kallang Riverside park fishing zone, in front of the fishing zone (reported to PUB). While we appreciate PUB working hard enforcing this, the frequency is just too much to manage. Perhaps we need a different strategy.

We were also surprised to still spot illegal hawking along the Kallang Riverside Park, from WWS toward Kallang bridge direction (reported to SFA).
