Love our earth. Love our waters.
Dear Friends,
It is another slow week at Waterways Watch Society, with only one educational discovery trail being held at Coney Island. The participants for the trail were able to learn a lot from our experienced facilitators and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They were also lucky to have spotted three different snakes and a spider during their discovery trail, which would make for a memorable experience for them.
Thank you to Leader President Joo Kek and the team from WWS.
Aside from the usual types of trash picked up, our weekly patrols members also picked up several interesting items such as pigeon spikes, toy parts, helmets, crab traps and a plush toy. This brings about the question of why such items are being found in our parks and reservoirs, a place where we are meant to experience and appreciate nature. It appears we still have a long long way to go to educate better social behaviour in Singapore.
Thank you to all members of WWS for coming for your rostered duty at Marina/Kallang, Punggol and Jurong/Lakeside.
