Stop horsing around!!

Dear Friends,
As it is the week of Chinese New Year, there were no CSR or VIA programmes. Our staff and members used the holidays to rest and spend time with their loved ones. Patrols went on as per usual during the weekend and a shocking amount of litter was collected in just two days. While a part of the amount could be attributed to the rainy days that Singapore has been experiencing, which caused litter to get carried from inland to our waters, a part of it was evidently littering caused by irresponsible park users who did not bother to throw their trash properly. Really, more needs to be done to educate the country on proper waste disposal and the impact of littering.
A notable wildlife sighting that our members encountered this weekend was the spitting cobra at Pang Sua Pond. As it was really close to the walking path, our members stationed themselves in the area to warn passersby of the snake.
Unfortunately, sightings of illegal fishing and unauthorized PBAs are still happening in Kampong Bugis and Kallang Riverside Park. Additionally, sightings of large numbers of crows around our pontoon are now quite frequent.
