Together, no more littering, Please!!
Dear Friends,
We start Chinese New Year with plenty of litter still in and around our reservoir waters. Alamak! Why still Like Dat?!
It is quite shameful to still be able to pick up so much litter while on our programmes and regular patrols at Punggol, Lakeside and the Marina reservoir. Singapore really needs to come together to make a new year resolution – Together, no more littering!!
This week was also full of activities for our members, with various patrol modes, gardening and maintenance going on. There was also a Kayak clean-up by members arranged on Saturday with over 20 members participating. We would like to thank all the members who came down this week to volunteer despite the Chinese New Year period! We also thank corporates that supported our programme even on the week before Chinese New Year!
During the week, we also sighted migratory birds in the Kallang Basin and even rescued one on Saturday along Geylang River. WWS also held orientation for new members this Sunday with 15 new members attending.
Wishing everyone a happy Chinese New Year, Gong Xi Fa Cai!
