Let us work towards a better future!
Dear Friends,
The week has been a great one and we are glad to see our past clients returning to WWS for more CSR programmes. Additionally, we are also pleased to have our renewed agreement with North West CDC (NWCDC) for another year. Thank you to our repeat clients for your continued support and to NWCDC for partnering with us and supporting our sustainable work.
On another note, several uncommon items were found this week during our programmes. We had participants who picked up several imitation jewellery, a wallet and several types of loose dirty cards, which were destroyed and disposed of properly.
Member patrols continued on as per usual, with most locations having bike patrols. We had our new members’ orientation this Sunday as well and we are glad to welcome 16 new members into WWS. Seven invitees did not turn up.
On the enforcement side, we see PUB officers out more often. However, engagement with the youths is quite challenging. They run away when they see the officers coming and when engaged, are often seen being aggressive to the officers. Perhaps joint patrols with police officers can be arranged to project more seriousness and authority to these young fisherboys. It is disheartening to observe such young individuals displaying anti-authority behavior. PMDs and PABs continue to be spotted within Kampong Bugis and Kallang Riverside Park with no visible action taken by LTA or SPF.
Summary of activities conducted over this week:
- CSR/VIA Programmes
