Forging Ahead!

Dear Friends,

This week slowed down a bit for us due to the Deepavali Holiday but we still managed 8 programmes. We are actually very well pleased that the holiday did not bring much trash into our waterways, and that is a very good sign! The trash instead came from upstream after the rainy nights on the weekends instead. Sometimes, we wonder how much awareness is enough before people are willing to take action.

This week, our members are also busy upgrading their skills, so many were not available this weekend. Despite the small team, we were still able to have a sizable number of patrols and rubbish collected! Not only that, we also have members who want to help us so much that we specially conducted a 2-star kayak course by our members, for our members! Congratulations to the 9 members who completed the course and many thanks to our coaches for making this a success.

Special mention again to our dedicated Pang Sua team, the garden growing team and monthly Orientation Programme for new members.

Our work does not stop here, and we don’t think it will ever stop as long as we do not prioritise the environment we live in. But, we can at least hope that with the awareness and sustainability movements, we will be able to make a positive impact on our environment and community.
