A job well done!

Dear Friends,

Another amazing week for Waterways Watch Society. This week, besides 7 other CSR/VIA programmes, we collaborated with NorthWest Community Development Council for their Waterways Clean-Up Day @ North West. We are truly honoured to be part of this event together with Mayor Alex Yam, and we hope that we made a difference to the students and the environment. This was actually held at Cashew-Senja CC, our Pang Sua Patrol spot! We thank our partner NWCDC for their continued support in providing the schools in their district with the opportunity to experience first-hand what the actual situation is like in our waterways!

Recently, we also partnered with Rainbow Centre to provide some of their students with a Kayaking experience. They do not usually get to enjoy such outdoor activities and this was a therapeutic programme for them!

Lastly, our patrols also have some new findings such as the Motoro Rays in Marina Reservoir, larger groups of students fishing at inappropriate places, more pet owners unleashing their pets in the parks (and reservoir waters), and more trash stuck at many places. Sadly, most people tend to brush it off, but we hope that it can be considered serious and more action can be taken by the relevant authorities. Are Singaporeans complacent and unaware of how litter and pollution can affect our economy and safety??
