Sustainable onboarding new volunteers helps to inspire ownership for our environment!
Dear Friends,
We were delighted to onboard yet another batch of new volunteers this week. It helps to inspire a sense of positive awareness and ownership for our waterway and environment. Welcome all new members! Our physical actions in volunteer patrols and CSR/VIA programmes demonstrates a need for sustainable community service as there is still a lack of awareness and good social behaviour in our public areas.
Over to Jurong Lake Garden, we observed a consistent group of cyclists cycling inside the restricted zone, for example Chinese Garden. Some cyclists went at a higher speed based on visuals, this is so despite various visible signs of “No Cycling”. We’ve engaged those passed through our patrol route and they complied with dismount and pushing. There is more to be done with education and enforcement. We have suggested to NParks to deploy their officers at these locations during the weekends.
