Let’s put social responsibility into practice, for our country.
Dear Friends,
This week had many activities happening over the weekend. The final run of first aid courses was held this Sunday for our weekend patrol members and facilitators. In total we trained 33 members over the past two months. In addition, a closed-deck kayak practice session was organized for our regular members and kayak facilitators. We had a total of 4 leaders and 11 members who participated in the practice session. To waterways, training is always high on our priority.
A horrifying amount of litter was collected this week, 441kg from programmes and 53kg from patrols. This might be due to an increase in park visitors coming to Kallang Riverside Park to watch the National Day Fireworks. Even though this is the birthday month of our country, it is saddening to see people not practice good social responsibility and care for our country.
On another note, we would like to thank NParks for their swift response in clearing away the broken pieces of the sink table in the public toilet at Punggol. It was a danger, especially to small kids, and it still is due to the sharp edges at the broken part, so we hope that it can be repaired promptly.
