Young or old, Singapore is yours to keep clean!

Dear Friends,

Waterways Watch Society is happy to say that there were no cancelled or postponed programmes this week. We are thankful that the haze has finally lightened up and that the weather has remained great for the week. As it has been a while since WWS conducted multiple waterway clean-up CSR/VIA programmes within a week, with only one CSR kayak clean-up held last week, there was a substantial amount of litter for our programme participants to pick up. We collected a total of 191kg over the week for our CSR/VIA programmes.

As for patrols, a total of 42kg was collected across our different patrol sites. Members for our Saturday patrol at Kallang noted that the area they patrolled was relatively clean, which is good news! We are also glad to see children joining our clean-up patrols together with their parents. They are the future of Singapore and it is important that they learn social responsibility at a young age so that it becomes a part of their lifestyle growing up. Next week, we look forward to four days of RMJ with pre-schoolers from SAC. At Punggol, Deputy CEO Joo Kek played host to a group of Temasek Polytechnic students doing their project with WWS.

We would also like to wish our regular Saturday Kallang Bike leader, Edward, a very happy birthday! Thank you for always volunteering with us!
