Dear Friends,

Another week of activities for us. Although not so hectic as in the previous few weeks, we still managed to do six programs with schools and corporate. We did two WWE for Kranji Secondary at Pang Sua Pond and Lower Seletar respectively, in total 77 students; two OBS Camps and Kayak Clean-Up for 97 students and one school talk at School of Science and Technology for 200 students.  For corporate side, we had one corporate talk for SWEAT GYM (25) and a meeting with Golden Space (EO) for a potential program.

There was one last minute cancelled program with Millennia School due to their low sign-up.

During the week,we had a members kayak patrol, 14 members attended and collected 51.4 KG litter. While during the weekend, 23 members joined patrol at Marina and 5 at Punggol. Jurong Branch is still pending our office renovation to be completed. Could be as late as July 2019. Safety boat duty for the week was a total of five. During the week, we engaged a pair of chinese youth fishing at the No Fishing Sign on Tom Yam Beach and reported to PUB two Malays using fishing net casting from Sir Arthur’s bridge (see photos). There was 13 anti-littering engagement done. Total litter collected during the week at Marina was 106.4kg.

Bike patrol sighted and cleared quite a bit of litter on land (in the parks) and the surrounding areas at Marina (Flyer/F1) where OSIM Sundown Run was held (see photos).

We believe those organising water and land activities around our Marina should be better supportive in helping to keep our environment clean and safe while enjoying. This should be in fact a mandatory requirement.
