Partying with Plastics!
Dear Friends,
Work has picked up this week for us with 7 CSR programmes even though this is the period before Christmas. We are glad that some companies take special time off during this busy season to make a difference to our waterways! We want to recognise every effort made, no matter how small; and these people certainly have made quite the difference to our environment.
Patrols are still going on as usual, with a whooping 29 members on Sunday at Marina! The amount of litter picked and engagement is no small feat either, given all the partying and illegal activities in the area!
Plastics again topped the list of items that we picked. Despite efforts to reduce plastics like bring your own bag and say no to straws, why are we seeing more and more plastics? Where could the inconsistency be? Other authorities and institutions need to buck up in addressing the lack of awareness of pollution and littering!
Christmas is coming with all the presents and gifts; but may we not shower our environment with anything unwanted. We continue to expect more partying in Kampong Bugis, Kallang Riverside Park and the Marina Bay as we approach Christmas and Year-End celebrations.
