Gearing up for the many crowds……of Litter!

Dear Friends,

This has been quite an eventful past week. The weather was warm and nice before the monsoon caught us and rained over the weekend. We had a CSR for 120 postponed on Friday and Punggol patrol on Saturday, cancelled. Nonetheless, we do whatever we can to protect our waterways.

Saturday, 11 Jan was an active day for WWS members. We thank PUB for hosting the Illegal Fishing Authority Card renewal session. 33 members attended this session, both physical and zoom. 42 Leaders attended the Weekend leaders training session conducted by our Admin, Daphne. This was followed with a Thank You CNY buffet lunch for members serving more than 40 hours during the past year, as well as new weekend Leaders. 52 members attended this lunch and we hope to see more members being invited going forward.

Meanwhile, WWS is not the only place with crowds. Despite the rain, our waterways are still crowded with litter and parks are crowded with public who ignore regulations set by authorities to keep the spaces safe for everyone!
